I had the pleasure of working with Dean ever since M97/98 in 2008. At the time, I was an inexperienced project lead and was trying to find my way. Dean was also pretty new to Apple, but even then, he provided confident, steady, and positive guidance – a great role model for the rest of the team. He always looked for a solution, and was able to flash his huge smile in the face of the greatest challenge or setback (and we had plenty!).
Through the years, I was lucky enough to continue working on portables projects that Dean was guiding into production. He was a true team player, and helped form great relationships between Operations and Engineering.
I will miss his smile, his confidence, his tremendous competence, and his enthusiasm. My thoughts go out to his family who lost a wonderful husband and father. As the Jewish saying would go, ‘May his memory be for a blessing’.
